How do families ask for support from Home-Start?

Families are usually introduced to Home-Start by someone such as a health visitor, social worker, midwife or family worker, but can contact us themselves.

We will ask for some of the family details from the person that has contacted us on behalf of the family and make a record on our 'referral form'.

One of our co-ordinators will then get in touch with the family directly and arrange a convenient time to visit them at home.

When they visit our coordinator will tell the family about Home-Start, explain the kind of support we can offer and answer questions they may have about our service and organisation and explain what will happen next.
