Ho-Ho-Home-Start Christmas Party 22nd February 2008

Despite the weather being absolutely terrible on Saturday 8th December, the rain didn’t succeed in dampening the festive mood. Lots of families, volunteers and Trustees arrived at Pinsent Masons looking a bit wet but feeling very excited about the fun that awaited them. Snow White, Buzz Lightyear and many more giddy characters were on-hand to greet partygoers. They then entertained everyone - including the adults! - throughout the two hour party.

Entertainment was also supplied by 2b Acting, who thrilled us all with amazing balloon-making, a miming act and wonderful singing! Pinsent Masons staff showed off their artistic face painting
skills, so by the end of the day there were lots of butterflies fluttering around, and Spiderman was scurrying here, there and everywhere.

The children were really excited when Santa made a special appearance. He invited each child into his festively decorated grotto, where they were all given an early Christmas present and then, to make their time with Mr Claus even better, each child had their picture taken with him!

After the party, Home-Start put all of the kind comments and decorated Christmas pictures from families and volunteers into a big card. This was sent to Pinsent Masons as a way to thank the staff for all of their hard work and generosity.

One parent told us - “I thought the party was brilliant. It was my daughters and my first time, and we would come again. There was so much going on for the children.” Comments like this remind us why our parties are so
worthwhile and how they prove to be really rewarding for everyone who is involved.

We would like to thank everyone who came to Home-Start’s Christmas party, and
we hope that you all had as much fun as we did. Even though it’s months and months
away (it will soon pass!), we can’t wait to see old and new faces at the next party!
