Home Start Leeds has appointed Tracey Simpson-Laing to the role of Chief Executive Officer following the retirement of Jane Li.
Tracey has over 25 years’ experience of senior leadership in the Public and Voluntary Sectors and brings a wealth of experience to Home Start Leeds. During her career she has held senior roles at several leading organisations and has worked in the areas of Learning Disabilities, Therapeutic Counselling, Mental Health, Alzheimer’s and Debt & Housing Advice. Tracey also spent 16 years as a Local Authority Councillor and sat on regional, national and international boards and committees.
Outside of work Tracey’s interests are cycling, walking and international books and dramas. Tracey moved to Leeds 3 years ago and lives with her daughter.
Tracey commented:
I am honoured and privileged to be appointed CEO of Home-Start Leeds.
This is an exciting time to be taking the helm and to build on the organisations 34-year legacy of supporting children and families in Leeds. Much work has been done but there is always more to do, and I am looking forward to working with and developing the organisation with the staff, volunteers, and trustees; and with those who financially support Home Start Leeds.
I want to thank the former CEO Jane Li for her work, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic, in supporting the staff team and volunteers who support children and families across Leeds; and her work to develop and grow the organisation.
Yvonne Butterfield Home-Start Leeds Chair commented:
The last 18 months have been difficult for everyone, and I want to thank our retiring CEO Jane Li for ensuring the families who needed support received it in their time of need.
Tracey is joining Home-Start Leeds at an exciting time as we look to not only continuing to provide our vital support services to families but also to grow the organisation so we can reach more families in the city.
